Shaping Lives, Strengthening Futures

In the heart of Chimaltenango—one of the regions of Guatemala with the lowest levels of schooling—stands Agua Viva School, a place where hope takes root every single day. Outside of Guatemala City, access to quality education is limited, and many children face barriers that prevent them from continuing their studies. In some communities, only one in four students has the opportunity to reach upper-secondary school.

This serious problem is why every year of learning at Agua Viva matters so deeply. Every classroom moment and every completed grade becomes an opportunity to break long-standing cycles of poverty and open doors to a brighter, more stable future. Education alone is a powerful tool, but education joined with the truth of the gospel becomes life-changing in ways that reach far beyond the school walls.

We celebrate all these accomplishments today!

This year, 25 little ones completed the pre-primary class, 25 students finished elementary school, and 26 completed middle school. With special gratitude, we also celebrate our 13 high school graduates, many of whom are the first in their families to reach this incredible milestone. They now step forward, ready to enter the workforce or pursue university studies, opening monumental opportunities for themselves and bringing renewed hope to their homes.

But the most beautiful part of this year’s journey is not found only in academic achievements. It is found in hearts touched and transformed. With nearly 325 students, we had the privilege of sharing the love of Jesus every single day through lessons, in conversations, and in quiet moments of guidance. We planted seeds of truth and pray with expectancy that God will bring growth in His perfect time. More than preparing excellent students and future professionals, our deepest desire is to nurture young men and women who will live for God’s glory.

When we look back on this year, our hearts are filled with gratitude. The stories we witness, the families encouraged, and the community strengthened, all point to God’s faithfulness at work. As we see the fruit of this year, we look ahead with hope, trusting that the Lord will continue shaping lives and strengthening our students’ futures for years to come.

As we look toward 2026, would you consider supporting what God is doing at Agua Viva?.
