21 Years Later

At our recent Agua Viva board meeting, the Lord gave us a simple but powerful reminder: the seeds planted today can bear fruit in ways we may not see for many years.

One of our board members had an unexpected encounter that brought this truth to life in a deeply personal way. We are grateful to share his story with you:

During our annual board meeting for Agua Viva School, we were having lunch in Antigua when a young man approached our table and asked if I was Tim Sheehy. When I said yes, he replied, “Your family sponsored me at Agua Viva when I was a little boy—21 years ago.”

I immediately recognized his smile and remembered him and his brother from their time at the home.

Seeing him again after so many years deeply moved me. Today, he is walking with the Lord, engaged to be married, and serving God by translating for work teams in Guatemala. This brief glimpse of the Lord’s faithfulness blessed my family and encouraged our entire board. It reminded us why we continue sharing the love of Christ and supporting the Agua Viva ministry with our time and donations.

— Tim Sheehy, Board Member

Stories like this remind us that what God does through your generosity truly lasts. Even when we may not see the results right away, He is at work—shaping lives, strengthening faith, and drawing people to Himself.

Because of faithful partners like you, children are being discipled, families are being strengthened, and the hope of Christ is being shared every day.

Thank you for being part of this mission. Your prayers, your giving, and your continued support are making an eternal difference. Just as we’ve seen fruit from seeds planted 21 years ago, we trust God to continue bringing lasting fruit from the work you are helping to make possible today.
