When God Opens Doors

Losing a job is never easy. It often brings fear, doubts, and many questions. Yet in the middle of uncertainty, God’s faithfulness never changes, and His provision always comes at just the right time.

This scenario was Karla’s experience not too long ago. Today she serves as our science teacher, but only a year ago she was struggling through a season of unemployment. As a mother of two and someone deeply passionate about teaching, she faced an uncertain future. With few prospects but much prayer, she decided to apply for a position at Agua Viva.

During her interview, Karla was pleasantly surprised by the questions about her personal and spiritual life. When she later received the exciting news that she had been hired, she knew it was a direct answer to prayer. She realized that Agua Viva would encourage not only her professional development, but her spiritual growth as well.

For Karla, our staff devotional program has been one of the greatest blessings she’s received at Agua Viva. Week after week, she is reminded that what matters most in this life is knowing Jesus and serving Him, and that He must remain our focus in the midst of our daily responsibilities.

This Christ-centered perspective has shaped the way Karla teaches. She strives to make her classes practical and engaging, building genuine connections with her students and showing compassion for the challenges they face at home. She is also deeply aware that teaching science provides her with an opportunity to point students to the Creator of all things—God Himself.

Karla’s greatest desire is that her students would not only grow in knowledge and develop their God-given gifts, but also that they would learn to place Christ at the center of their lives.

At Agua Viva, investing in our staff has been a priority in recent years. Teachers who love God also love their students. Instructors like Karla, who guide with wisdom, empathy, and God’s love, bring us great joy.

Please continue to pray for each member of our staff, that God would use them to plant the seeds of faith and knowledge in the lives of our students. Together, we remain committed to the mission of making disciples of Jesus through education.
