Q: Can I send money or gifts?

No. Our scholarship program is set up solely to provide for the educational needs of the children in our community. We want to keep the program focused on providing for the students tuitions.

Q: What does my sponsorship cover?

The budget to educate our students works out to about one dollar per day per student, an excellent investment in the future of Guatemala. Tuition covers just a fraction of this cost, so we must raise the necessary funds to operate the school. The Sponsorship Program help us supplement tuitions so that we can provide a quality christian education to the children from our community. Your monthly donation helps provide for: A quality education from a school know for its academic excellence. Biblically-based teaching and weekly Bible classes on Christian living, doctrine, church attendance, and life skills training. Access to classes and facilities not available in many schools such as: chemistry lab, computer class, English class, art, music and much more. Teachers and staff who are dedicated to providing a christian education to their students. Maintenance and expansion of safe and clean facilities. Education costs for the children of the Agua Viva Home are covered by the home’s Sponsorship Program.

Q: Is travel in Guatemala safe?

As guests of Agua Viva your safety is our number one concern. Our campus is well protected and guarded. You will always be accompanied by an Agua Viva staff person whenever you leave our campus. Q: What documents do I need to travel to Guatemala?

While you must have a valid passport to enter Guatemala, US citizens do not need a travel visa.

Q: Do I need any vaccinations?

There are no shots required to enter Guatemala or re-enter the United States. That said, we do recommend a recent tetanus shot. The CDC also recommends a Hepatitis A and B for anyone visiting a developing country.
